Los Angeles Rams Building Momentum
The Chargers barely did a thing against LA last weekend. Nine points. That was it. The Rams cruised 24-9, building on a previous 35-21 road win of Las Vegas. That is consecutive wins right after a shaky spell where Arizona squeezed by them 18-16 and Buffalo stole a 37-34 overtime thriller. They also have a 24-20 victory over Philly. That means three wins out of their last five tries. The biggest positive? The defense stopped being mediocre, giving up just 30 points combined over the last two weeks. On the year, LA scores 24.3 and allows 21.0 points per game.
Matthew Stafford is sitting on 2,146 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, and eight picks. He hits 67.3% of his targets, but his right arm is banged up, making him questionable for Sunday. On the ground, Kyren Williams has racked up 548 yards and six touchdowns, while Blake Corum has chipped in 389 yards and three scores. Puka Nacua is the main target outside with 56 grabs for 565 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, Nate Landman has 59 tackles, Quentin Lake has three picks, and Byron Young leads with 4.5 sacks.
Injuries: Dean Connors is on IR. Colby Parkinson, Joe Cardona, Grant Stuard, and Matthew Stafford are questionable.

Washington Commanders Trying to Turn the Corner
Philly could not move the ball at all against Washington last Sunday. That 27-10 blowout ended a miserable three-game winless slide for the Commanders. Before that, Washington dropped a 23-17 game at San Francisco, tied the Giants 27-27, and got thumped 30-13 by Indy. Go back further and you find a wild 33-31 win against Seattle. Add it up and they are 2-2-1 over their last five games. They score 22.7 points a game but surrender 26.0. The Eagles were an easy assignment last week, but LA's offense is a completely different thing.
Jayden Daniels has 976 passing yards, six scores, and zero interceptions. He is also a headache on the ground with 236 rushing yards and two scores, averaging a lofty 8.7 yards per carry. Jacory Croskey-Merritt leads the running backs with 239 yards and two touchdowns but he is stuck on IR. Out wide, Antonio Williams has 259 receiving yards, while Stefon Diggs has 252 yards and five touchdowns. Sonny Styles leads the defense with 54 tackles, Odafe Oweh has four sacks, and Rasul Douglas has pulled down two picks.
Injuries: Daron Payne, Javon Kinlaw, Jeremy McNichols, Jer'Zhan Newton, and Terry McLaurin are all on IR.
Key To The Game
Stafford's health changes everything. LA has racked up 2,159 passing yards this year while Washington has managed only 1,502. If Stafford is good to go, Nacua and others are going to shred a defense giving up 26.0 points a game. If he cannot throw, expect a big dose of Williams and Corum. Keep an eye on the quarterback scrambles, too. Daniels is picking up a whopping 8.7 yards every time he pulls the ball down to run.
Los Angeles Rams vs Washington Commanders Game Pick
- Los Angeles Rams -5.5
Washington looked great beating up Philly, and they have been tough to beat at Northwest Stadium. But LA has found their identity over the last two weeks, winning by double digits against both the Raiders and Chargers. The Rams simply throw the ball much better and have two dominant pass-catchers who have already cleared the 480-yard mark. Williams is also a touchdown machine inside the red zone. Stafford's arm is a real worry, so make sure he is active before putting money down. However, Washington's defensive line is absolutely hollowed out by injuries right now. If Stafford takes the field, the Rams have too many weapons and should cover the 5.5 points easily.
Los Angeles Rams vs Washington Commanders Over/Under Pick
- Under 47.5
LA's defense just held the Chargers to nine points and Vegas to 21. Washington gave up just 10 points to Philadelphia last week. Both of these defensive units are playing their best football of the season right now, even if Washington's season-long data looks ugly. The offenses score a combined 47.0 points per game on average, which sits just under this line. With Stafford dealing with a bad arm, LA will likely lean heavily on Williams and Corum to control the tempo. That keeps the clock running and limits the number of drives. Take the under instead of banking on a shootout
