St. Louis takes to the road Tuesday for a visit to Madison Square Garden to play New York at 7:00 pm ET on ESPN+. The Blues (7-6-1, 5th Central Division, 15 points) picked up their second straight win Saturday, beating Detroit 5-4 on the road. New York (7-7-1, 5th Metropolitan Division, 15 points) fell 4-1 to Edmonton on Sunday, extending its losing streak to four games. Check out our free NHL picks for other games on the schedule.

St. Louis Blues Getting Their Offense Going

St. Louis is back to scoring goals after a rough stretch in late October. The Blues were shut out by Carolina and Montreal in consecutive games before beating Boston 4-1 on Thursday. St. Louis followed that with a 5-4 victory over Detroit on Saturday, giving the team nine goals in two games. The Blues also beat Vegas 6-2 earlier in the month. St. Louis averages 3.14 goals per game and has a 23.7% power play.

Jimmy Snuggerud (8 goals, 11 points) leads St. Louis in goals, with Mason McTavish adding six. Dylan Holloway has been setting up chances with nine assists and leads the team with 12 points. The Blues have received good play from Joel Hofer, who has six wins and a 2.42 GAA. Hofer ranks 10th among NHL goalies in GAA and has a .917 save percentage. Jordan Binnington has struggled in his four appearances, going 1-3-0 with a 4.11 GAA.

Injuries: Colton Parayko is questionable. Ross Johnston, Torey Krug, Dillon Dube and Tyler Tucker are out.

New York Rangers Still Searching for Answers

New York hasn't won since October 19, when the Rangers beat Anaheim 5-2. Their latest game ended in a 4-1 home loss to Edmonton on Sunday. Before that, the Rangers lost to Los Angeles 6-3, Ottawa 7-4 and Toronto 5-4. It's been a rough stretch in their own zone, with 22 goals allowed across four games. New York averages 3.07 goals against this season, although the penalty kill has remained strong at 89.1%.

Alexis Lafreniere (9 goals, 16 points) has been New York's top goal scorer, with Adam Fox leading the team in points (17) and assists (16). Mika Zibanejad has 12 points and remains another option on offense. The Rangers have been without Igor Shesterkin, who recorded a 1.79 GAA and .927 save percentage before his injury. Dylan Garand (4-6-1) has played 11 games, posting a 2.73 GAA and .897 save percentage. New York will be looking for a better night defensively against St. Louis.

Injuries: Sean Durzi, Igor Shesterkin, Joe Veleno, Joonas Korpisalo and Aidan Thompson are out.

Key To The Game

The Blues have scored nine goals in two wins, while the Rangers have allowed 22 during four losses. New York must keep Snuggerud from finding open ice. St. Louis will also need to watch Lafreniere, who leads the Rangers with nine goals. Hofer's numbers offer the Blues another advantage if he starts.

St. Louis Blues vs New York Rangers Game Pick

  • St. Louis Blues

New York's strong home record makes this a tougher call than the losing streak suggests. The Rangers have won six of eight at Madison Square Garden, but they've given up at least four goals in each of their last four games. St. Louis has scored nine across its last two wins, and Snuggerud has been finishing chances consistently. The injury to Shesterkin also leaves New York with fewer options in goal. Hofer's 2.42 GAA gives the Blues a steadier answer at the other end. I'll take St. Louis to keep its winning run going on the road.

St. Louis Blues vs New York Rangers Over/Under Pick

  • Over

New York has allowed 22 goals in four games. St. Louis hasn't been perfect defensively, either, allowing four in Saturday's win over Detroit. The Blues have scored nine over their last two, while New York still has proven scorers in Lafreniere and Zibanejad. Shesterkin's absence creates another concern for the Rangers, especially if St. Louis gets off to a quick start. Both sides have enough forwards to create chances, and New York has struggled to prevent them lately. I'm taking the over.
